Soccer roster management

A soccer roster that thinks like a coach

Organise players by lines and positions, check their availability, preferred foot and shirt number, then use that same roster for match squads, games, statistics and reports. If you already work in Excel, import the roster when you start and keep editing it inside NeoTactIQ.

A player list does not explain how your team is built

A spreadsheet can store names, numbers and other basic details. But when a coach looks at a squad, the questions are different: how many goalkeepers are available, which alternatives exist in each line, what is a player's main position, and who is unavailable this week?

NeoTactIQ turns the roster into a sporting view rather than a purely administrative table. That information stays inside the same environment you later use for match squads, game tracking and following each player.

The roster is organised the way a coach thinks: by lines and positions, with each player's availability, preferred foot and shirt number.

Position-based view: understand the structure of the squad

The main view automatically groups players by line — goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders and forwards — and shows how many there are in each. You can read the squad at a glance and see the options you have in every position.

Each player has a primary and secondary position, preferred foot, shirt number, date of birth and age. Besides the record status (active or inactive), every player carries an availability status that is taken into account when you pick the match squad.

NeoTactIQ also flags players who are over age for the category based on their year of birth, which helps before registering them. The view includes search and position filters to find anyone in the group.

The player profile brings the whole follow-up together

Every player has a profile with personal and contact details, height, weight, preferred foot, positions, availability status and staff notes. The nickname you save is the one shown later on the match-squad graphic.

The profile also keeps the player's history of individual reports, with a PDF version for the family, and weight and BMI read against the WHO 2007 reference for ages 5 to 19, with the weigh-in history. This is health data: only the club admin and the team's editors can see it, and every access is logged.

You can add photos and videos of the player (MP4, MOV, AVI or WebM up to 2 GB per video) so the material stays with the profile instead of being scattered across phones. Individual reports, weigh-ins and video storage are part of Coach Pro and Club.

Team weigh-in and coaching staff in the same area

The team weigh-in records the weight and height of the whole squad on a given date, with each player's previous weigh-in shown alongside. It is the quick way to keep physical follow-up current without opening every profile.

The Coaches tab lists the coaching staff with their role — head coach, assistant coach, goalkeeper coach, analyst… — their licence and date of birth. You can add staff already registered in the club or create new ones.

Already have the roster in Excel? Start from there

You do not need to enter every player again.

NeoTactIQ uses a downloadable template prepared for import (.xlsx or .xls) and a three-step wizard: upload the file, review the preview and see the import result. You check what comes in before accepting it.

Import works alongside individual creation. Bring in the squad at the beginning, add or edit players as the roster changes, and add a player from another team in the club without registering them again.

Import your complete roster from Excel when you start, then edit it inside the application.

The roster feeds match squads, statistics and reports

The roster becomes more useful when it stops being an isolated list.

Registered players are the starting point for every match squad: there is no need to rebuild the group from another document each matchday. During games, what you record live stays linked to each player and feeds their minutes, goals, cards and rating in the statistics.

The workflow stays connected: roster → match squad → match → statistics → individual report. Every step feeds the next, and the roster becomes the team's operational base.

Frequently asked questions

Can I import the roster I already have in Excel?

Yes. Download the Excel template prepared for import, fill it in and upload it with a three-step wizard (file, preview and result). You then edit players inside the application.

Which player statuses are available?

The record can be active or inactive, and the player also carries an availability status: Available, Injured, Promoted, Resting or Suspended.

Can I record players' weight and height?

Yes, in Coach Pro and Club. You can record weigh-ins for one player or the whole team, and NeoTactIQ reads BMI against the WHO reference for the player's age. Only the club admin and the team's editors can see it.

Can I register coaching staff too?

Yes. The Coaches tab lists staff with their role and licence, and lets you add coaches already registered in the club.
